Raw Cacao

 

Raw cacao is a super food and is very different to dark chocolate. Dark chocolate has been labelled a health hazard because of the heating and addition of sugar and other chemicals during processing. Raw cacao has six times the amount of anti-oxidant levels to that of dark chocolate.

Known as “Food of the God’s” for good reason, raw cacao is one of the most nutrient dense foods available to us. It has significantly high amounts of Vitamins B1, B2, B5, B6, C and E, zinc, copper, calcium, fibre, protein and fats. It is a super high anti-oxidant food having an ORAC score of 95,500 which is 14 times more than red wine and 21 times more the green tea. It is also extremely high in magnesium, an essential mineral for the brain, providing focus and clarity. It helps our nervous system, giving feelings of calmness, joy, love and happiness from the high levels of PEA (phenylethylamine) (pronounced fennel-ethel-uh-mean).

It maintains the healthy functioning of the heart and helps strengthen our bones. It has no sugar and less fat than most nuts. Standard commercial dark chocolate on the other hand with the heating, addition of large amounts of sugar and chemicals has a very energy draining, acid forming effect on our bodies.
